A Lovely Sunday and Video Numero Dos
So we had a lovely Sunday afternoon with the roommates.
We discovered that candycorn can be used as a pick to a uke and a guitar.

Then Charles and I decided to do Cornrows yet again. Here is before
And here is after.
And here is the long awaited Video Numero Dos. We'll try and make one every week :)
A Modern Family Appreciation Post
I've been watching this show since the Pilot. And i've seen all the episodes. The 4th Season has picked up and it's still making me laugh BUT i noticed a couple of things within the Season Opener.
Apparently others enjoy Sriracha sauce as much as i do. Click This If You Want To See.
Mustache Mug
Sriracha Sauce(i have an addiction ok?!)
Mustache Shirt
Just one of the few reasons why i love this show.

William and Henry
Majestical Muffins,
So, yesterday Em went to an awesome concert yesterday as you all had the chance to read about. Admittedly, I fell off the grid a little this weekend. So, I'm sure that you are all super curious how I spent my weekend.
Let me assure you that it was quite the Saturday. I suppose that I may as well make this announcement. I am now involved in a serious relationship. It is a big commitment, but I feel that at the ripe age of 21 it is something in my life that I can handle. His name is William. We've been trying to make this work for a while, but because of my busy schedule we haven't been able to spend much time together. I was able to make some time for him this weekend though (I only had to completely disregard all of my commitments), and we are very happy together.
I also made some time to meet William's friends. His friends are way smart and were helping me prepare for the four exams that I have to take this week. William was a little distracting though, so I will admit that I didn't accomplish much.
And, yeah, that was my weekend. Now that I have finally come clean about this relationship I feel that I can breath a little easier.

These Songs of the Night tend to be more love songish because they are more chill and actually help us sleep. yeah. sleep. the end.
That Day Where I Go To a Concert
Today i went to the Big A concert in SLC.
The line-up: Eve 6, The Wombats, Dead Sara, The Used, Imagine Dragons, Grouplove, Awolnation, Neon Trees.
It was a fantastic concert, and i find that pictures are worth a thousand words...so here we go.

Imagine Dragons were my favourite.
I love how passionate the lead singer was.
And how sometimes he screamed :)
During The Used concert this little boy was the CUTEST thing. He just bobbed his head!
My future child much?
Best friend Sammi and her boy Todd
Our little rocker all tuckered out
Anyone seen kid history? The head of the guy smiling look familiar?
As i was stalking the guy from Kid History these two guys thought i was taking a picture of them. So naturally i had to take a picture of them! We are now friends.
Neon Trees.
More Neon Trees!
I was introduced to a lot of music i didn't know about before and then some classics. I'm kind of bummed i didn't get to see Eve6, had to sacrifice them to get a good place for Imagine Dragons. It was worth it though, i could still hear them. Awolnation and The Used were pretty good. My friend Sammi thought The Used were pretty hardcore, but i dated a guy once who loved Metal...so yeah that just made me laugh.
So, listen up.

A Review of Durian
I've heard a LOT about Durians in my life time, but i had never actually tried this mystery fruit. Until last night. I got a text from my friend last night that said just a couple of words that changed my life "My place, Durian party".
Durian is an Asian fruit, that usually you never really find good ones here in the U.S., or so i've been told. Provo has an Asian market (that's name is 'Asian Market'...yeah i'm a little skeptical on that one too) that had Durians in the freezer. If i remembered the exact instructions on where to find it i'd tell you. Something about going past the cashier, left?, a freezer, and bottom row. Also- i guess you have to be a bit of a connoisseur to pick a good Durian: must smell right, sound right, and look right.
I approached my friend with my roommate last night and saw a thickly shelled fruit that had a knife sticking out of it.
"How in the world do i eat this?!"
"Just kind of grab some, and pull. It's better towards the seeds."
Only one thought came to mind when i saw the actual fruit: This looks like slug flesh.
Apparently the other people eating it didn't really appreciate my thought process... I looked at it and then at my friend, my look asking him if i really had to eat it, then i thought "What the heck, carpe diem".
He picked up a bit of the flesh and handed it to me, the time had come.
In all honesty, the first bite was suuuper gross. It tasted like wet onions, but better? My Mom always used to say, "You need to at least try 3 bites of it!", when she made something gross-like fish- for dinner. So i picked up another glop of Durian and swallowed it. "Not too bad...." Third try was a little bigger. "Hey, this is actually pretty good...."
Basically i sat there eating Durian for the next 15 minutes or so. It wasn't fantastic, but it was actually pretty good. On a scale of one to ten i'd say a solid 6.5.
So if you have a chance to try Durian- DO IT- but that doesn't mean you have to like it. I'll love you anyways.
What i want to try next:

On a side note: We were eating it outside last night and now i remember why. Some places in Asia have signs that actually ban people from eating Durian there. Why? Because it REEKS.
we have a life now?
Last night Emily and I tried something new. Durian.
It was strange. The flesh of the fruit has this strange, fatty, pulp-like consistency. And the taste... The taste is slightly fruity, but with a definite onion after-taste.
Do I recommend that you all give this a try when the opportunity arises? I sure do. I don't love it and I will definitely not have an insatiable desire for this fun fruit, but live a little. Do something a little crazy and try it sometime. Don't cut it open inside... Apparently, that's illegal in some places because it smells super gross.
If you are looking for a durian, the guy we know found it at an asian market. There are probably other places that you could get your hands on one.

Song of the Night
This is a tradition that was started long ago-it was someone elses idea, but we made it a tradition, and i'm a person of habit so i've kept it going... Every night you pick a song that kind of describes your day, you found a random song you love, or a song that just really fits your mood at the moment. Charlee and i have a Song of the Night every night, so instead of spamming up my Facebook wall i'll be putting them here now.
It came on today while my iTunes was on shuffle, and i love it. I forgot all about this song...but i love it.
and Part Two-why a part two you ask? Because this didn't calm us down at all, we needed something a little slower.
Also another i've been listening to all day.

i'm just straight up awkward.
after tonight i've accepted it. How am i awkward? do you ask...welllllll
i trip over everything
i laugh when i shouldn't at something that someone said like 5 minutes ago
i just start talking when there is awkward silence
i make weird faces when i feel awkward
and that's just to name a few. after said awkward moments i just mentally slap my forhead, but i show my expressions way too much....so i made another weird face.
i have problems.
BUT
EMBRACE THE AWKWARD.

I believe it's 1:50ish that is Charls favourite part. This is one of Jas' favourite songs right now :D
Stopping Traffic.
Em wanted me to post on the effects of LSD, but depsite popular belief I do not have extensive experience with that. That's a joke....
These posts of mine may be awkward for a little while, or for all the while. This blogging thing is new.
Once upon a time, like last weekend, I decided that the time had come in my life to learn how to do cornrows. So, I did. And it was wonderful. There are pictures of Emily with cornrows on Facebook if you want to know how that turned out.
Afterwards, Em and I decided to go to the hammocks; there are these hammocks that we spend a significant quantity of time lounging about in. These hammocks are in front of one of the neighboring apartment complexes and are strung between two trees near the street. We were just hanging out in the hammocks completely minding our own business, and suddenly..
A car is driving by, and they stop.
Them: "Hey, that looks fun."
Us: "It is."
Them: "You guys need hammock buddies?"
Me: "Always!"
Em: "Charlee! Don't."
Them: "Where should we park?"
Me: "On the street?"
I meant parallel park on the side of the road... They put the car in park in the middle of the street and jumped out. We went from talking about boys and shoes to cuddling with strangers within the matter of a minute... Before we know it there are several cars backed up behind their car that was parked in the middle of the street and everyone is in chaos, honking, cursing, and yelling.
And that's the time that Emily and I stopped traffic.
There is a little more to the story but I won't embarass them with my commentary on that..
We spend most of our time at the hammocks, things will make more sense if you remember that..

My name is Charlee and I like science...
Hello my majestical muffins of the world,
Mi nombre es Charlee. Yes, for reals, that is my name.
Once upon a time, I met Emily. I don't really remember how that happened...
And then we decided to live together.
And then we decided to share the awesomeness we call life with the internet.
I'm a Molecular Biology major...
My favorite things in the world include:
-the wind in my hair
-lush green grass
-science
-sunshine
-makeup
-clothes
-shoes
-science
-owls
-science
-being in a laboratory
-delicious food
-dancing
-science
-nailpolish
-science
-science
I'm sure that Em and I will become very close to all of you as we share all of wonderfulness. Enjoy, because our awkwardness may as well be put to use and provide entertainment for the world.

"Sooo....how are we going to do this whole blogging thing"
We are just starting out, and frankly have no idea what we are doing. For those of you who know us...it's really not that surprising that this is happening. It's been a long time coming.
Hola. My name is Emily, Charls will be doing her own post shortly.
A little about moi...
I'm a Theatre Arts Studies with an emphasis in Makeup Design Major, yeah, i usually just say Makeup Design. I'm in love with my major and it's what i'm passionate about. I enjoy doing what we call "Grossies and Gorries" makeup, so zombies, monsters, and rotting flesh and such. I really love Biology, i'm taking PD Bio for funsies this semester.
I want a bunny. More than just about anything, a cute little flopsy eared bunny. I have a fish named Mufasa, he is a Beta and is kinda clear so you can see his guts! Cool right?! I just love animals and i've already concluded my house will be a mini-zoo in the future :) Although the hubby will have to take over on the reptiles and such....meh.
Music is my sanity. I love all kinds, but no seriously...all kinds. Yes. Even Polka on rare occasions. I've grown up singing my entire life with my sister and music has always been a part of my life. If you know any great songs or bands send them my way!
One of my goals is to try and see every Temple. I love Temples about as much as i love traveling, so why not do both right? I'm starting out small and trying to get to every one in Utah.
I love lipstick. It's becoming one of my favourite tools. It's wonderful because it's so easy to "dress" up a look just by putting on a coat of lipstick and it makes you feel like Marilyn Monroe. What else could a girl want? It's just classy, if you do it right.
I am like a little kid in a lot of aspects. I love romping around and i find such happiness in the little things in life. Grass between your toes, swings, good movies, pizza(both kinds.), and dancing in kitchens.
Weaknesses: Motorcycles and skateboards/longboards. motocycles are way fun and i don't know what it is with a man on a board with wheels...but i've had this weakness since i was like...9.
So here's to blogging. Katy just called us Blogger Hoes....not sure how i feel about it, but if i had to be a Blogger Hoe with anyone it would be Dickens. That's her name, don't believe it if she tells you otherwise.
