Hey..

It's been a while..

I can't believe that just last September Em and I started this blog.  That wasn't even a year ago.

This is the 100th post.  I saw that we only had 99.

99 is good for a lot of things.
Balloons and pretending like something is less expensive than it actually is.
But not for blogs.  Naturally.

Everything is so different now.  Not in a bad way, though.

It's the summer time and Emily is in the faraway land of Portland.

I miss her face and making videos with her.

For now, I'm glad that she is happy in Oregon and I'm happy in Utah, but what a wonderful day it will be when we are reunited!

I hope everyone else is enjoying their summer :)

California Craziness

So it's been a little while since we posted. Like 3 months. So a lot while. Hm. Well, for all of our followers information- I am now in California. Con mi familia! It's been a crazy last couple of weeks, but it ended with me in California for a couple of weeks and then on the 8th of April, Oregon for the Summer. The last weeks have been filled with lack of sleep, a lot of packing, partying with family, singing really loud in the car with my sister, shopping until our feet hurt, and craziness. Absolute craziness.

My last week in Provo was kind of super emotional because i won't be back until Fall. Saying goodbye to friends was pretty hard, but i'll see them again soon :) Until then a lot of Skype, that's for sure.  Sucked missing Sister Gibson coming to the Provo MTC as well. Buuuut it's for the best right now.

So I flew into Sacramento on the 21st to my sisters, Cristina. The next morning we were up early and i was on my way to help out with my nieces kindergarten class! I've been pondering about changing my major to Early Childhood Education and this was a chance to get some experience with children in that setting. I loved every minute of it, they were all full of energy and eager to learn. It was an experience all right! It was kind of a party day because it was the last day before Spring Break, so we played games, had singing time, and ate great snacks. I'm telling ya, Kindergarten is where it's at!

All of the Crazies after the Easter Egg Hunt

Two boys at my table that told me i was pretty. I love this picture!

The next day it was Roadtrip time with my sister. I love roadtrips with her because we sing a lot. And it always means In N Out too...So after 2 hours or so of that we were in San Jose getting ready for my mom's 60th to start.

Danielle and I. We've always been super tight, she's a couple years younger than me.

My cousin and I went to BJ's to get a pazookie, a tradition of sorts, and headed back to the house as family began to arrive. My family parties are always too things: big and loud. It's what you get when you get a bunch of Latin family together.
Uncle Bobby, My Mom, Uncle Jimmy, and Uncle Francis.

Great food, music, laughing, talking, picking on the boyfriend my cousin brought, and a whole lot of running around. Everyone was surprised because i had dyed my hair and was wearing contacts. They all said how much my sister and i look alike, what do you think??

The next couple of days were filled with relaxing in San Jose. One morning Danielle and i woke up to my 6 year old niece banging on our door yelling "Delivery!" as she brought us McDonalds that my Aunt Pam had bought us. We ate as we continued our Futurama Marathon. I had started watching it with a friend in Provo and really got into it so i roped Danielle into it too. Zoidberg is my favourite for sure.

That day we decided to go shopping. We hit up H&M, Urban Outfitters, Pac Sun, and Zumiez. Not to mention the two Starbucks and Tapioca Bubble Tea place we found. So i'm changing my wardrobe around and trying out some new stuff. Can i just tell you now that i am in love with the direction it's going?

I have found some new loves: Leather and Lace. Finally got a pair of leather boots! My fashion guru: Greg, is very happy with me. Granda Busto is to blame :) She spoils me, as does the rest of my family. My Uncles and Grandma are the best!

My cousin and I are ridiculously alike and i realized that a lot this trip. We have a lot of the same mannerisms and look alike too. Enjoyin' some Starbucks.

Monday was Beach Day. Relaxing, Pizza My Heart, and napping on the beach. I haven't been to Capitola since i was a little kid but i remembered the siiiick toy shop. The beach was exactly what i needed, it lets me think clearly. The warm sun, sound of the ocean, and the feel of the sand between my fingers.

That night Danielle and I went to Petroglyphs, where you go and paint whatever you want. I painted a cup to look like Zoidberg that has its own COOKIE compartment!

We left the next day for San Fran and spent time with my Grandma. Packed the car to the gills with everyones luggage and crammed into my seat. I realized that i can still sleep in any position if i'm tired enough.

Life is still a little crazy but it's getting to a point where it won't be so much. Excited for Oregon, yet a little scared for that next chapter in my life.  Until then, Spring Break with my Sister and Mom-until she leaves.

I've got a lot of goals for this Summer.

My Mantra for the next 5 months?

Emily Brings Home A Boy: Part 2

Where to even begin.

The same boy mentioned in previous posts decided to make another appearance in our humble abode tonight.

So...at the same time two of our guy friends were over. Sweet and simple: one is gay the other is bi. So i didn't know how the guy i invited over was going to handle this...i was a little apprehensive to be honest. It was ridiculous of me to be so, but i was.

So he comes in, we talk, and i introduce him to everyone, and we end up sitting on the couch. I've got water boiling on the stove for tea and am watching the end of Fast and Furious:Tokyo Drift. Which i've never seen...it was...beautiful- i love cars. So i'm sitting pretty close to said boy but my kettle starts whistling so i get up to get it. As i stand up and make my way around the couch one of our guy friends, who is sitting at the table gives me an "ok" sign and rises his eyebrows in approval and starts to check him out!

I was bent over laughing which caused the guy who i was sitting with to look over the couch at me, trying not to have the stupid orange juice i was drinking come out my nose. I tried to pull it off smoothly...and failed. I ended up crouching on the floor drinking my orange juice nonchalantly. So i'm making my tea and the one checking out my guy comes over to me and starts talking to me in hushed tones.

"So..how long have you two been dating?"
"..we aren't dating..."
"So the race begins."

Which caused me to laugh even harder and i smacked him on the shoulder and told him to back up off. He just raised his eyebrows and walked off. When I sat back down i informed the guy that he was being checked out and apparently I had some competition. He just raised his eyebrows in surprise, which again, caused me to laugh really hard.

Never in my life have i ever had to compete with a guy. It was pretty funny for the rest of the night. I would catch him staring at my friends and send him mock glares, he tried to play with his hair when i was and i smacked his hand away multiple times. When he was leaving, the man checking out the guy, we started talking in Spanish because he speaks it as well. I told him that the guy was mine and to keep his hands off, he laughed and said that if he ever needed a break from me-for a night- then to get ahold of him. I laughed and said no, never. He quiped in with a why nooooot and i told him it wasn't important, the guy was mine.

The night was an eventful one, this is only a quip of it. This kid.

On another note it's been FREEZING here, like -2 degrees when we walked to school this morning. So i've been listening to Best Coast and RHCP. Sometimes when i close my eyes i can pretend i'm in California.

Song of the Day

I’m learning that expectations are the reason why people let us down. We expect them to do this and that and when they don’t we are disappointed. It’s something i need to work on, just letting people be people. Not putting any expectations on them, letting them surprise me with how genuine they are. Learn to love their imperfections and be thankful that they are by my side doing to the same thing. We are each far from perfect, so why do we expect everyone else to fit our ideas of perfection?

And i've been listening to this song all day.

Oh for the love of roommates.

So today was the first day of classes and i woke up early- my stupid body has been doing that to me since the 2nd. It's because of a lot of reasons, but anyways, not the point. I couldn't go back to sleep and i was coming up with every possible excuse to stay in my warm bed. It was that perfect temperature, warm enough to keep me there wrapped in its understanding arms.

Charlee and i have class at the same time so we got up to get ready and met the boys-Mike and Greg- to walk to school. It was an adventure, and i couldn't feel my legs once we hit 800. So.cold.

The day was a whirlwind of new classes, new faces, seeing people i hadn't seen for almost a month, and getting back into the swing of things. I went to work and had a tech problem that took more than an hour- but hey, now me and one of the Tech guys are bff's. Found a new work buddy and talked to Counselors all day!

It was a tiring day but I got a ride home with one of my co-workers so that made life significantly better. I opened the door and bellowed "HONEYYYY I'M HOMEEEE" and looked around the corner to see Katy sitting on the couch. When i looked at her she broke out into this huge grin of complete and utter happiness, it was like a kid on Christmas! We started talking as i made dinner about life and everything in between. Charlee came back from Cam's and we all gathered around the kitchen table and swapped stories about our first day of school as we ate Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars. We discussed last night-so so so much more to come later. keep reading- and quoted Pitch Perfect so many times our sides hurt. We laughed over our days, Charlee had to scrape half a ton of ice off her car and I accidentally messed up a guys name in one of my stories which made them laugh even harder. Katy is getting into her Biology classes and stoked for Ornithology. I just listened and smiled and i realized how blessed I am to be living with these girls. We've been through a lot together and I know that no matter what they have my back.

Our new roommates, Sarah and Monica, joined us and I seriously haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Life is so good.

Here is the story that i promised earlier. When any of us have ever brought over a boy, regardless of our intentions with them...we kind of try to awkward each other out. It's an unspoken rule. When Katy brought over her new boyfriend at the beginning of the semester Charls and I planned their John Deer Wedding, we found everything John Deer and posted it to her facebook wall. When Charlee...well...we make it awkward. Understatement of the year. Charlee basically gets the shortest end of all the sticks, because he's over all the time. SO last night i brought over a boy to dinner, because he had never met any of my roommates. I was a little apprehensive because well, Katy and Dickens are Katy and Dickens. There were heaps of underhanded punches that he didn't understand, overhanded ones that he did, and...well the cream of the crop.

Katy: "So...when are you going to start dating?"
P: "Well..i don't know i mean.."
Katy:"That was my not so subtle hint that you should date Emily."

I have never been so speechless in my life. All of a sudden that rice that i was scrapping out of the bowl got real interesting. Katy ran away that little skunk. Katy basically won that night...when we talked about it later she said "I can't even believe that i said it...i tried SO hard to keep a straight face. When i actually said it i had to book it or end up dying."

She got a glare for that later. Charlee stared him down during dinner until he looked at her and when he did she refused to break eye contact. I spent most of the dinner stirring around my chicken mortified. At least Mike made a good impression. Mike kept mumbling and I turned to him and yelled "SAY IT TO MY FACE!" and he turned to me and shouted "MARGEBARRGLLLEE" <-gibberish. Tea almost came out my nose.

There are so many other stories from that night, it was such perfection. I'll probably never see him again, but at least i have a standard to shoot for next time they bring over a boy. Revenge will be so sweet.

Right now we are talking about licking chargers, Charlee is cuddled in a purple blanket to my right, Katy is backwards on the couch to my left cackling and well. these girls :) Couldn't ask for better roommates. Mi familia.

So i saw one of my friends tonight for the first time in over two years. Needless to say i was a little nervous, i didn't know what to expect or if we'd still hit it off like we used to.

Can i just say how weird it was to see him after two years?! So so so weird, it's like not a day has passed and at the same time i suppose it's different. It's a good different though. We watched Merlin, i met his roommate and his friends, ate J-Dawgs and talked and got into music again. It just feels like another part of my life clicked back into place, like it's been kind of off for awhile. I don't know how to explain it.

I saw a WHOLE new level of cock blocking tonight, learned that boys are inept at opening doors- or eating jdawgs without spilling it all over themselves, found out my pupusaria is closed on wednesdays, realized that boy won't shut up during Merlin-but i love it, and realized cold pizza isn't really all that bad :)

Another one tomorrow!
