Today i had my Theatre Makeup class, work, and then more Makeup because i was helping teach the Opera students about stage makeup.
During class we talked about what Janet calls "Grossies and Gorries" blood.burns.scars.tears. EVERYTHING NASTY AND AWESOME. I love blood and scars and zombies. All of the above make me happy. So after talking for two hours about what a makeup artist always needs to be carrying and then delving into grossies and gorries she told us that next class we are just going to play with all of her stuff. We are going to learn how to make people cry, go to town with fake blood, and try silicon putty!
Translation: blood and guts people, blood and guts.
Then I came back after work to help with the Opera students. No one was helping the guys so i sacrificed myself. It was a really hard decision. 6 guys who had no idea what they were doing looking to me for guidance...yeah...it was a hard decision. Everything I said was basically scripture to them. They were SO much fun though! They were fast learners and really fun to talk to and joke about makeup with. One in particular was having a hard time and i helped him the most. He was about 6'6 and standing up. I reached up to put shadow on his nose but decided it was too much work, i just grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him down to my level. His face. ahahahhahahaha it was SO FUNNY.
"Sorry if that was too forward...but we've known each other for about 5 minutes now and well, frankly, you weren't making any moves..."
"Oh no, please, do what you will"
Another guy wouldn't stop talking, but he was hilarious, so i just starting putting makeup close to his mouth and he shut up real fast.
Another guy gave me his liquid eyeliner because he hated it. Yeah. I got eyeliner from a guy.
I LOVE MAKEUP. I love what i do, and i love working with people and getting to know new people.
Oh, and let's just say, concerning my last post-well. i have both guts and glory now :D
Oh. and i love old age makeup.
